AS AN ARDENT UNIVERSITY OF LOUISVILLE FAN I RESERVE THE RIGHT NOT TO SAY very much about this show. Only that it is not as good as ANY of the Louisville shows they ever did. And that I can't help but take great delight when Phil Lesh snidely comments upon how many empty seats there are! It's only that as a Kentuckian who misses living in his state that I include this show, and that I grew up less than 25 miles from Lexington and Rupp Arena. Nostalgia(sigh). As much as it pains me to admit the version here of the old Bobby Womack classic "It's All Over Now" IS the finest Dead version I have ever heard. It's a rollicking good one that stops me every time I hear it. It's well worth a listen--even if you have to forget it was recorded where the Wildcats play basketball.
onemoresatnitestream.com is a Grateful Dead blog with a weekly Saturday night pick for a free streamable Grateful Dead show plus occasional blogs of interests for Deadheads everywhere. It is hosted by A Kentuckian with a Touch of Grey, From the Same State as Owsley Stanley.
